    Default Can't find BBM anymore

I can no longer find the icon for BBM on my Sprint Tour. I don't remember doing anything such as hiding it, but my daughter might have accidentally hit something. I went back to the default icon locations and folders but it is still missing.

Does anybody know what happened and how I can find BBM? When people send me BBMs they say they were delivered, but don't show up in my messages.

    Thanks.

Yes, first place I checked. It used to show the incoming BBMs in my messages but those don't come in there anymore.

go to options then applications see if bbm is listed in either add on or core

If not then go here from your phones browser and download it again

    OS 5.0.0.419 + Driphter Dv8.2 = Better than Verizon's Official 5.0.0.591! ! !

Fast and no browser click issue..

If you haven't, press Menu and select Show All. Then look in all folders to see if it's been moved and hidden. If that doesn't reveal it, go to Options / Advanced Options / Applications and see if it is listed as an installed app.

I went to options and applications and BBM is listed, but it is listed as 4.7.0 rather than 4.7.1 (which most of the other apps show).

If I hit Menu, I don't see the Show All option. My mother has the Tour for Verizon and "Show All" is in her Menu list.

Another thing to notice, I can't do the wireless update to 5.0. I've tried doing it a bunch of times and it always fails. I wonder if that is why I'm having problems with BBM, maybe it got stuck in the middle of an update.

Any ideas on what I should try?

    Thank you.

If you don't have Show All as a menu item on your Home Screen menu, you need to reboot your phone.

I did a reboot (took battery out for a minute) and when it started back up I got the following message:

    uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException

I still don't have the Show All in the menu (are you sure it is in the Sprint Tour)? I also still can't update the Blackberry software.

Yes, Show All is part of the Home Screen menu. The java error you got on boot-up indicates you have a corrupted OS. That explains the Menu problem and your inability to update your OS. At this point, all you can do is make a backup if you can, then wipe your device and load the OS from scratch.

it wont show - "show all" if you have no hidden icons. Just head over to the BB appstore and redownload. that way you have the most up to date version.

Thanks for your continued help. Is there a link on how to load the OS from scratch?

There are many threads on the subject. See Lecture 12 in the BlackBerry 101 Lecture Series for a good place to start. BlackBerry 101 is found under the BlackBerry Help tab at the top of the page.
