Blackberry Messenger 5.0.0.19 Real Or Fake

Well I was going through some of the installer files again and stumbled upon something that might be very disappointing.

I took a look at the pictures of the Ota download for the so called Leaked Version of BBM 5.0.0.19 and started looking through the 5.0 ota installer Files.
If you open the File In Wordpad it shows the name, version and vendor. All in which can be changed by taking control of the file. Ill post another pic of a different version ending in .22 to prove my point. So the ending results will be 5.0.0.22 instead of 5.0.0.19 which from the looks of things might be a fake leak.

K I just got the new pic so whats everyones thought on this?

i guess you could test it out and see if it works on .191
if its that easy to change the name of the file then who is to say that there is any difference in any of the bbm 5 series.

Thanks for the picture. I'll just wait to hear what the community has to say about the leak. For now, BBM 5.0.0.8 is working great for me.

Would be nice to have BBM 5.0 for Os .191 but trying to force the code is going to take some time. Hopefully someone will leak a real working version and soon. But no problem on the pic uploads. Just expressing my findings.

I'm actually waiting on the official release of 5.0 for Verizon. Thus far, I've heard nothing but limitations for the leaked version, and am pretty much against loading incomplete OS's to my Tour.

There was a mix up where it was implied that I .222 (don't ask I just ended it with a rick roll to get it locked) and yeah. People on here love to flame. When it comes to leaks I just lurk until it does.

which leads me to my theory. All leaks come from Kevin when traffic is low on the site.

I would like to let everyone know, that I do not have it. However I can prove a work around to where it shows that I may have .19

If I had BBM .19 I would leak it in a heartbeat. The work around to make it look like I have it is rather simple. But if someone is claiming they have a leak but doesnt leak it, then its probably to good to be true.

So if the leak is actually out there then why doesnt the one claiming they have the leak just go ahead and leak it!

Or could it be they really dont and they just did as I have.

I thought the whole point of leak threads was there for leaks that are coming or maybe coming but there not there for me to say I have the leaked version and keep it for myself. What good would that do for everyone else trying to find the actual true leak?

.19 is a known build that will work with 191+
There was a guy who claimed to have it, and then leaked a supposed set of files. They turned out to be completely faked .17 from a completely different OS/device. So his flaming was rightfully so for trying to brick and screw up a bunch of peoples devices.
This is the first .22 build i have heard of

howarmat As far as I know there isnt a future leak of .22 I was just using
.22 to plead my case that it could be easily changed to state that Im running .22 when Im actually running a different version. Thus could be leading to a bricked storm.
