BBM wont let me add people

I just bought my phone and I added one person and then it told me to upgrade my BBM when I did, all my requests stay at pending and no one can add me. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it didn't work...help!

make sure your data plan has been activated

I have the same problem. I'm used 9000 with BBM 5 though. I have some people on my list.. most people just end up pending even though they have added me.

And yes I do have BB service...

I just tried that and it didn't work either. Is it lame to take the phone back because BBM won't work?

Sounds like a software issue to me. Should be resolved by an update. I never had this problem before.... I'm not stressing out because I will replace my BB in one month anyway...
