I believe with the inviting text contacts method your messages are still counted as texts not BBMs and thus subject to any extra costs. So while BBM was free if you had a BB data package and you could do messages of any length, I believe when you invite contacts it's treated as texting (with the message limitations).

That is correct. BUT at least you can manage all your texting contacts in one place. Sorry for my delay in responding...

honestly..my friendsbhave all converted [except for the nonsmartphone people I know] to blackberry because they see how much abuse mine can take. I got my first one 5 years ago and only considered getting the 3d evo last year but otherwise, I will forever be a blackberry guy.

I'm only 20 but since most of my friends started getting blackberries, my usage has gone up plentyl though its onoy about 3 people. also, I feel like it's less creepy than asking for phone numbers, so I like that aspect. :]
