BBM 5.0 ota not working

I downloaded the BBM for 5.0 os from stormota.com and it downloaded and still no bbm even after reboot of device.

then i checked and it still had 4.7 so i deleted it then loaded 5.0 and rebooted. still have no bbm but it shows in application list as being installed.

i asked friends to check and they say my BBM is showing up as offline on their phones.

am i doing something wrong? most people say they download it and it just starts working but i've seen people saying they download it and have the same problem but i can't find anyone that has helped these people fix the issue.

any help would he great!!!

thats the link everyone used, it just isn't working for some people no matter what. I'm hoping someone who has had the same issue and resolved it (The same issue as i described in the first post) can help.

Yes I have the same problem, I loaded bbm5 several times and deleted it several times in hope that it would work, but it doesnt. SOMEBODY, PLEASE HELP!!!
I also notices that my Windows Live Messenger does not work as well. If I try to download it, it says my phone doesnt meet the requirements.

I am thinking it had something to do with if you had BBM 5.0 already installed or not?? I ha it installed and I am having the same issues. Any thoughts???

i did not have it installed as noted in the first post. i was running 4.7 previously so i don't think that is it.

i seem to have gotten it to work. by doing the following...

Downloaded BBM for 5.0 Multilanguage

then Re-downloaded it but with English version not the multilanguage. while downloading do not let your screen shutoff. The download never appears to complete when the screen shuts off even though the progress bar has dissappeared.

Then Do a battery pull and bbm will appear in your Instant Messangers folder!!!

I, on the other hand, was running .151 and had bbm5 running perfectly, but since upgrading to 5.0.0.140, cant get it back. ???

And when you say multilanguage, is there a file with that name on stormota.com?

That didnt work, but installing the bbm5 os 5.0 version fixed it for me.

i had BBM 5.0 installed before going from .151 to 5.0 and still can't get it to work. i have deleted...rebooted...dl'd the correct stormOTA version over and over again to no avail.

I had to use DM to remove BBM (OS5 installs v4.7 which overwrote 5.0 from .151) then I did a battery pull and did the OTA and it worked just fine. make sure you are installing the version for OS 5.0 not the storm version for os 4.7

You need to download the one labeled "BBM 5.0 (OS 5.0 Version) - English", it's the sixth one down on Stormota, not the one specified for the Storm. The one specified for the Storm is for the 4.7 OSes.

Ok This Is For Those Who Have Been Struggling With Installing Bbm5:
Install The Bbm5 Os 5.0 Version English, Not The Storm Version. That Fixed It For Me!!!

Just did this and it worked great thanks.
Just not sure if it was fixed by downloading the Multilanguage ver first, maybe just the fact that I origionally downloaded the 5.0 for the storm (which is actually for 4.7 builds) as opposed to just downloading BBM 5 for os 5.0. working great now, hope this helps.

UPDATE: BB servers were apparently down last night when I was attempting to add bbm'rs. Tried again today and all successful! So far, SO GREAT!
