Exclamation Urgent! Pls Help! Bbm Issue!

This has been going on for over a day now... I own a Bold that is about 4 months old and I am on the Rogers network. All of a sudden more than half my blackberry contacts are now set to 'unreachable'. I know very well that these people are infact reachable, and it's a problem with my phone. I cannot 'pin message' them either. As well, when I try to add contacts or people try to add me, it just sits in 'pending' but the actual request never gets sent. I have searched for over three hours trying to find a solution to this problem, but to no avail. I have tried pulling the battery out, I've tried the alt+shift+delete reset, I've tried turning the radio off for an hour and I'm not out of options. Does anyone think I should delete blackberry messenger, and reinstall it? Or should I wait? Has anyone experience this problem before? Any ideas... I'm starting to get really frustrated. I didnt pay $500 for a phone to have glitches! Anyone? Help? I really rely on BBM for work and desperately need to have this problem corrected ASAP. Please, someone help...

Did u resend service books? Also try re registering the host routing tables. Sounds like a service issue. Can you surfe the web still? $500! Why did you pay so much?? Anyhow, I'm sure there an easy answer. Don't give up!

Yes, I am still receiving email, I can brownse the internet and I have resent service books about 100 times. I spoke to Rogers and all they could offer to me for a solution is to wipe my device clean and reinstall the software. Which I have no idea how to do...

Not sure why so many contacts are unreachable.

Regarding the pending issue, try (if you haven't already) adding a new contact's pin to their entry in your address book. Then - go to BBM, Menu, Add Contact. Type the name as it appears in your address book, select it and their pin should be available to select. Do so and proceed as you normally would. This should get rid of the pending issue and allow the process to continue, up to and including your new contact accepting your request. This used to happen to me on older OSs. This workaround always solved the problem for me. Good luck!

resend your host routing table. This happens to me when I do OS upgrade/downgrades sometimes.

Go to options>advanced options>host routing table once in host routing table, hit the berry button and click on register now

I have resent the hosting table, I have tried adding contacts through the address book... nothing seems to be helping. Any other ideas?

I can almost guarantee it's your sim card. Request a new one from your carrier and that should sort the issue.

Would wiping my device clean and reinstalling the software help? If so, how do I go about doing this... apparently I know nothing about BB

Or is there a way of simply uninstalling blackberry messenger and reinstalling it? The only issues I am having with my phone are in BBM (contacts unreachable, will not accept or send new contact requests and I cannot 'pin' message anyone who appears to be 'unreachable')... Is it worth it to try to reinstall bbm?

Have you tried a battery pull? I didn't see that mentioned in either of your threads.

Do as I suggested in the other thread you made on this.

Believe me, amongst EVERYTHING that I tried, a battery pull was the very first thing I tried. When I got home today, I did a device wipe, and reset my bold back to factory settings, still not working. Called Rogers, gave me instructions on how to uninstall and reinstall the software... did it... didnt work. So finally, Rogers has deemed this a 'device issue' and no longer a software issue.....So i's be getting meself a new bold :-D thank goodness for that!

Mate, as I said you could have just requested a new sim card. Make sure you do with your new phone as you might run into the same problem
