Question Unable to use BBM over wifi

I have been trying to search in the internet and this forums but still couldn't find the specific solution on why I couldn't use my BBM over wifi?

Does anybody have any idea how to solve this?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Have you resent servicebooks and re-registered under the host routing table? It could be your carrier doesn't support this. Also, try a battery pull.

Unless you have used bbm on Wifi before, most likely your service provider doesn't support bbm with wifi - few do

Carrier's do a lot of things that don't make sense. I can't YouTube over wifi (it's not supported). They complain that these types of services puts a strain on their network but then they block services on wifi?

How do I resent the service books? I'm not familiar with this yet. After I opened the service books, which items that I need to resend?
I re-registered the Host Routing Table.

I have never used BBM on wifi before. I went to their customer service center and the staffs were not quite sure about what is UMA and how does BBM can be used over wifi? I will call the provider headquarter office tomorrow to ask again.

I tried on my cousin BB and she had the same problem with me. She uses 9700 with this Xl provider but can't use BBM over wifi. Another cousin uses the same provider but using Torch 9800 and can use BBM over wifi. So I believe it might be the device-related problems.

Yes, I do have a BB data plan. But I'm not using the full service. Just the one for social networking and chatting (Facebook, twitter, MSN, BBM, etc)

When I traveled to other countries few months ago, I subscribed to the full service and I couldn't use the BBM over wifi as well.
