Default Trackpad Cursor Won't Move into Some Native Apps' Search Fields

As of this post, I'm still using VZW OS 7 on the 9850. Out of the box, I have noticed that when using the trackpad, the cursor will not move into the search field for tasks and memos like it does for other features/apps? You must use your finger on the touch screen to move the cursor into the search fields for those two features. This may also happen with other out of the box features/apps that I haven't accessed yet or won't ever use. So, can someone else with a 9850 using 0S 7 and possibly the newer 7.1 see if this is inherent or different with a newer OS? Thanks.
