That you would start clubbing a baby seal to have that sort of problems on your BB / BBM 5.0?

My apologies if I'm incorrect pal!

I ditto this. At times I can send two messages, and the second one gets to the other person before the first. And it forever tells me that a contact is busy when I know that they aren't. Hopefully RIM can fix this before 5.0 is officially released.

I believe Verizon is having server issues and they just happen to coincide with the release of BBM 5.0. I think we need a poll to see if it is a "Network" specific problem!

According to CX, we got our hands on a very early version and there are already much better versions out there. He further stated that when 5.0 rolls out officially it will be very good.

BBM has nothing to do with Verizon. It is strictlly a RIM product and uses RIM servers.

Its def. .151s fault. They admitted .151 has network issues. They already said its been fixed in the next version and I'm sure that leak is right around the corner. Personally I have had zero problems with the new bbm

I don't know, I have .151 installed and no problems until late last night. Now it is fine again. I vote for a server problem yesterday. However I did experience my first bout with inactive screen presses when attempting to select a contact. I had to pull the battery and then it resumed normal operation.

Are you still having the problems when clicking a contact does nothing? I couldn't even get it to work from the BB hard button. Discover any work arounds or just a battery pull?

And I'm not blaming RIM. I know its a leak. However, other services are suffering also. My point is that every time something comes around, supported or not, we all get excited that maybe this will be the turning point in the RIM change into fully commitment of the consumer direction. But we always get bashed against the face with the flaws and bugs. Nothing is perfect, but I see on step forward, and 3 steps backwards. Like the BIS infrastructure not being able to support sll of the traffic. Or infrastructure failures during OS releases like .148, etc.

I've had issues like that on the OLD BBM too! Sometimes the messagaes NEVER even displayed a "D" or "R". I don't understand what the big deal is. When I've had that happen with my wife, which is usually who I use BBM with, all I do and tell her to do is restart / battery pull the phone and then it starts working. Seems more like a network hickup than a problem with the software.
