Podcast app not recognizing RSS URL's

I have a new 9900 and would like to add a couple of custom feeds to the PODCASTS app. I go to the "Add Podcast Channel" and enter a URL (eg: http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss) and click NEXT but I always get the same result: I end up in a google search.

Even if I copy the link of the rss feed, press the ESCAPE button, and go back a screen (as instructed in the app), I'm just presented with a NEXT button which takes me back to the google search.

Am I missing something basic here?

...and taking a different approach, I found my RSS link in the browser, and then clicked the MENU button, and selected "Subscribe To RSS Feed". I'm then presented with "ADD TO FEEDS" or "ADD TO PODCASTS"

Add to feeds doesn't seem to do anything, while add to podcasts shows this screen (see attachment)...but I can't get any further.

What is the difference? I tried both but still can't see my RSS feed in the podcasts program...please someone help!
