Default How to rip DVDs for viewing in BB 9780?

I want to view my (legal) DVDs in my BB 9780 during travel. How to rip DVDs in the right format (I use PC) and in high quality (with audio) for viewing in 9780? Is there any good software or app for that?

Thanks,
Tintin

Allaf,

Thanks very much.

What is the best video/audio format for 9780? What are the settings? Do I need to input the aspect ratio of the screen etc?

Seems like the free "Blackberry Video Converter" is now just "Video Conveter" (ver 2.3) targeting iPhone/Pad. Will it still work?

Free Video Converter

Is there any advantage for the paid DVD to BlackBerry Converter software?

Thanks,
Tintin

I personally don't watch movies on my BB dude, so maybe someone else can answer the above question....and tell you what format you need exactly...

I have moved your thread to the Movie/video forum, where you may actually get some USEFUL help.

Read BlackBerry 9780 specs and this:
docs.blackberry.com/en/smartphone_users/deliverables/22178/Supported_audio_video_file_formats_60_1018040_11.j sp

I think you can try Aneesoft Video Converter, the preset setting are setted for you~

Jane66,

Thanks very much. But I think I need a bit more hand holding. Suppose I want to watch 30Rock Session-1 in my 9780. Will you please put-up a step-by-step guide on how to do it? When I insert dvd disk-1 of 30Rock-1 in my laptop's dvd drive, it automatically starts playing. If I go to the dvd as a drive, then I see a large number of files with unfamilier extensions. I have no clue how to identify the episods, how join those files and make a complete episod (with audio), and the reformat it for BB 9780 screen, and then play it in my BB. Can you help, please?

Or, is there a software/app that will do all for me?

Tintin
