I'm glad to see that people are having success getting movies on their BB. I have gone through every ripper I could find, and a number will give me .3gp files with a 320*240 resolution for a 8320 Curve. But when I try to play them, after a second or so, it says "load error."

I've also noticed that if I play them on my PC with a 3gp player, they will not play with mplayer, but play with no problems using ffplay. Any suggestions? Anything I can do or stop doing to get the movies on my BB?

Thanks.

You could try this method and create MP4 files:

Convert for Optimal Playback without BB

It's focused on Verizon devices, but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't play on yours as well. If you want a little higher quality file, I would set it to 2 pass and 800 bitrate. If you want decent quality and a quicker encode, just follow the instructions as they are.

Default CNN Videos and Sound problem

On my 8120, I can play CNN videos, but some of the videos do not play sound. I have narrowed this down (potentially) to a file size problem, but I don't get any error messages. Is it possible that some CNN videos don't play sound due to file size and, if so, how can I be sure?

i have to go through 3 steps to get videos on my BOLD.

1. Use ImTOO DVD ripper
2. Convert the video to MPEG by using a converter called "Any Video Converter"
3. import my videos to Media Studio for Blackberries

the media studio for blackberries is great, i was able to convert a 2.5GB movie (Lord of The Rings) into about 455MB and it looks great on BOLD. I use a 16GB micro SD and i have like 13 movies and i still about 9 GB of free space that space we be for music.

Just wanted to comment and say thanks for the write up! My kids are getting a kick out of watching Transformers and Little Einsteins on my Pearl. Even though the volume bites...
