Default Wipe and load on a Mac

My cousin has a Curve (not sure if it is a 8530 or 8330) on Boost Mobile. She is having some issues and has to do at least 2 battery pulls per day. I suggested to her a wipe and reload of the OS. She said she doesn't know how to do that, I was going to walk her through it but she told me she has a Mac and that stopped my help for her for a bit.

What options does she have to do a complete wipe and reload of her OS?

Ive found no way to do a wipe on a mac. Had to use my netbook today to fix my torch. Only thing you can do on the mac is resettofactory which doesn't help in this situation.

I don't think there is a way to with a Mac. At least I can't figure it out.

There doesn't seem to be. You can check the commands availble with the console app. No wipe function, just resettofactory. Really does need the option. Hate having to bust out the netbook to run windows just for that.
