Usb tether using desktop manager

I have been trying to setup usb tether on my mac with desktop manager. It seems so simple from what I can find on the web and within these forums but it sure isn't working for me. I am on att and not sure of the correct combination of apn, password and such. I just got this mew macair for christmas and thought it would be pretty much plug and play like my window machine. anyway i am using X lion and os6 on a bb 9800. anybody take me by the hand on this before I pull out the rest of my air.

You need a tether plan from at&t, a tether app, or an illegal workaround, that won't be discussed.
