I was able to get my verizon storm tethered to my macbook pro within 20 min. Thank you so much everyone for the valuable info. However, a week later I tried for 3 hours to get my connection back and I kept getting this same error. I went through the steps over and over and nothing would work. I finally decided it had to be the storm so I decided to pull the battery out of the storm. I waited a couple of minutes and re-installed the battery. The connection worked on the first try after that.

I got my macbook about 3 yrs ago and it's still Tiger. I tried both dial-up and VZ Access Manager but both failed.

For the dial-up, there are boxes for account#, password, and phone#, but there is no advanced option. For VZAM, it doesn't detect/recognize the phone.

I already have the Mobile Broadband feature on my plan.

Can anyone please help me?

You just need it get the data plan. Then search google and there are a lot of good tutorials. I banged my head against the wall for a couple of nights. Once I got the data plan, did a *228, tried it again worked great.
