Syncing problem

everything is fine with my phone except every time i write an email on my computer (using thunderbird, mac) it syncs the drafts to my phone (gmail btw). now this would be fine but its re-syncs the drafts every time i type something. so im getting 10 different emails of the same draft but with minor additions. like on thunderbird if i type "how are" it will sync and i will have an email that says "how are" and the second i type "you" it will sync again and i will get a second email with "how are you". this is beyond frustrating and dont understand why anyone would have this feature. but if anyone can help me turn this off i will greatly appreciate it.

also i didnt change any settings. this happened all of a sudden on its own.
