I just picked up a Tour today, and for grins, I connected it up to the Imac. I was hoping it would pick it up as a another hard drive. I was just hoping to drag and drop some songs. No such luck. I might try pocket mac as it is free or has a free trail. If it dosen't work. I can wait until RIM Software releases in Sept.

On as side note. What is the max microSDHC card the tour can handle? 16 GB? I wanna get most space before i start loading up the apps.

Thanks.

I've heard nothing but horror stories with PocketMac... You can install parallels/fusion/crossover and then mess around with windows (except with crossover) just to sync your BB. Or... you can buy Missing Sync and go from there. The only reason you need DM is to update OS software. In those rare instances, then you can mess around with virtualization or just wait till Sept when DM for Mac comes out.

Missing Sync has been wonderful for me... have used it since day 1 with my Tour.

What do you need a computer for to synch with a Blackberry? I know you need it to synch contacts and calendar, though

i like to sync my music and downloaded videos to my black berry. I don't care so much about contacts or calendars as I have those in other places and don't change them (except for the calendar) very often anyway.

i use doubleTwist to sync my iTunes music library (non-DRM tracks I ripped myself) and YT and Daily Motion videos I downloaded using the import from YouTube feature in doubleTwist. Maybe I'm wierd in that my phone is more a social and fun device and not a business device for me.

dt works for both Win and Mac and since i'm also weird in that I use both types of computers a lot, I appreciate one app that works for both.

What is dt??????? If you meant DM(Desktop Manager) then you must have not tried to load it on a Mac, it will not work unless you go through bootcamp, Parallels or some similar program. PocketMac worked for for my first Bold but will not recognize this one as a connected device. And I don't want to spend the money to buy missing sync when DM for Mac is to be released in September.

Well, I was able to get Pocket Mac's SyncManager working fine. I just chucked the version I had previously downloaded into my trash can and downloaded it again from RIM's website. My contacts & Calendar sync'd fine. I'm currently using Version 1.2 (1.4)

I've been using Missing Sync since I had the Storm. I've since gotten a Tour and find it errors out quite a bit.

I've had really good luck syncing the calendar using Spanning Sync with Google Sync. I like because it keeps both of my calendars updated on the fly (practically) and I don't have to keep connecting my phone to my computer anytime there is a calendar change.

And, the Mac should see your BB when it's connected if you have a SIM card. On the BB, go to Options --> Memory and turn on MTP and Mass Storage Support. That way, when you connect the SIM should mount like any other external drive.

I have played with DoubleTwist too and it works great for getting non-drm'd iTunes track into your BB too.

Well i had to switch phones with my provider, and Pocket Mac seemed to only update a small percentage of my contacts. So since i need to back this thing up quickly, i checked out Missing Sync and Google Sync. Google Sync has a free trial option which worked out ok. Dont wanna spend the $40 or $25 on Missing/Spanning sync respectively since DTM for MAC is coming out this month.

Google sync didnt seem to recognize the PIN area in my phone book and chucked everyones PIN in the "Other section" So i had to manually move it over. But other then that, it sync'd my cal & contacts ok. U get what u pay for i guess. Anyway, this blog will soon be dead once DTM launches this month. Still waiting for my notification email from RIM!
