Question switch to a new phone with a different os ( contacts, apps, bbm)

Hi
I have just got a new bold 9700 so I would like to bring my contacts, apps, themes, bbm contacts and email accounts (2 gmail) of my bold 9000 to the 9700. On the 9700 I have the office suite that I do not have on the 9000
I am on leopard with BDM 1.04
I have done a full back up of the 9000.
The 9000 is on OS 4.6 and the 9700 on OS 5.
If I do a restore will all the apps, contacts, themes merged and will I keep os 5 or will it downgrade and delete the apps that were not on the 9000 ( the office suite)?

Thanks for your help

All of you personal data will transfer. The apps/themes would be a separate 3rd party backup, which you didn't mention making. If you tried to transfer them, they may or may not work, depending on whether they are OS5 compatible or not. I've found most apps will work fine, while some themes will not. They could be in your application list, but not show in Themes to activate, or may activate, but not look right. Any purchased apps you'll need to go to the site you bought them, and switch the pin, then wait for new registration codes.

Thanks for your answer, so using restore will not delete apps on the 9700 that were not on the 9000?

Won't touch an app. You'll click on restore, find the last backup you made, and all your contacts, emails and what settings will transfer all load up on the Onyx.
