Are you trying to upgrade to an official OS?

You should be able to plug your BB into your PC, open Desktop Manager and load it from there. I'm pretty sure DM will recognize that there's an update for your phone.

Otherwise, you can download it to your PC, install it and use App Loader
C drive > Program Files > Commone Files > Research in Motion > App Loader > Loader (I think)

Oh thank God! Me too!...well, at home I do. Stuck on this ugly, slow Deel for work.

OK, plug in your phone and open desktop manager. There should be an option to check for updates (in fact, I think you can set it to check automatically in the Preferences)

I've never updated an OS on my Mac but I saw a good video-walkthrough on here a bit ago...I'll try to find it.

Ok, technically this video shows how to install a beta/leaked OS but it does show how to install the OS. Just skip the 2nd half.

you cannot upgrade to 5.0 with a mac unless its an official os. you WILL brick your phone. i did.

you can only upgrade to unofficial OSs if theyre under 5.0.
