Beta/hybrid Dmg Files

I have started to create a few DMG's for people that have requested them...with all the users of this forum we should be able to keep this updated.

I will have 8330 BETA 5.0.0.230 files in a DMG format uploaded soon....Keep in mind these are the files only NO INSTALL you will have to copy them as explained in the Install Hybrid section of this site. Install Hybrid w/ DM for MAC

I have tested this on my 8330, 8900 and 9530...the Hybrid works without fail! Still testing on the BETA versions.

BETA ONLY INSTALLS: DO NOT ATTEMPT IF YOU ARE A MAC ONLY USER! IF YOU GET A 507 ERROR STILL NO SOLUTION THAT I KNOW OF. THE ABOVE PROCESS WORKS 100% FOR HYBRID OR GOING FROM 5.0.0.190 TO 5.0.0.238...BUT FROM 4.5, 4.6, 4.7 TO 5.0 YOU WILL GET A 507 ERROR ON YOUR PHONE!

When installing a BETA on the 8900 I got a WARNING MESSAGE ON THE SCREEN...BLAH BLAH RIM YOU CAN NOT REVERSE ENGINEER...then a Blackberry White Screen...let me look at the files...I think I need to remove the RIM Install Software Software thats in 5.0

OKay, thank you so much for your work. Still one question, my Bold OS is 4.6.247 "plate forme" is 4.0.0.206. Can i update my phone with your file??

I installed a beta on my 8900 by install full recommended os, then after it was finished, I copied all the 5.0 files into that folder, quit MAC DM, then reopened it, and reloaded current os again, and it worked 5.0.0.238

Hi..I'm a mac user and I carefully followed the video tutorial and attempted to upgrade my OS from 4.60 to 5.0 but it failed and now i have a 507 Error.

Can someone please guide me with how to fix this problem? I'm new to the Blackberry. Is my phone ruined?

Same for me, I got a 507 error. Fortunatly after I downgraded my phone I did a save of the java folder. So I put them back in the folder, did an other upgrade (downgrade) and got my phone back running normaly.
I would like to updade it now to 5.0.0.238 without that kind of incident. What did I do wrong??? do I have to paste the UMTS folder' content?
Now my phone is running 4.6.0.160 from my carrier.

This Process Works For Hybrid Not Beta! See The Post In This Thread That I Wrote, If You Are Using 4.5 You Can Not Go To 5.0 Straight Using This Method! It Will 507 Your Phone Which Mean You Have To Reinstall The Old Os....

In Order To Go From 4.5 To 5.0 Beta You Need To Install The Radio File And At This Time I Have Still Not Figured That Out...even Though The Radio File Is In The Folder Its Still Will Not Complete The Installation?

I had the same problem. If you did not make a copy of your original .cod files before replacing them with the 5.0 .cod's, move or delete the folder and DM4M will re-download the recommended OS. Try connecting your Blackberry, it will not recognize it as quickly but should eventually connect and give you the option to reload. If connection fails try a battery pull while plugged in. Strangely I had better luck connecting to my DM4M when I opened up an instance of Parallels if that helps.
