BB 8520 doesn't connect to Mac

I am trying to connect my BB to my new Macbook Pro.
Installed latest software from RIM on Mac.
Connect via USB.
However, Mac (BB Software) is not 'seeing' my BB device.
Tried all the stuff I found on the net (format BB SD card, turn mass storage on, etc...).
Sill no connection.
Has anyone an idea?

Did you buy the BB new or used? I have a macbook pro also, and the tour I recently bought had trouble connecting.
