I'm a bold user myself but i have customer purchasing an 8900 this afternoon and he wishes to have 5.0 software. i realize there is no official release yet and he is well aware that this is a leaked version. i haven't been following the 8900 boards to find out which is the most popular/least buggy 5.0 version out there right now. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance blackberry family!
well i ended up getting .238 to work by uninstalling everything and upgrading DM to 5.0 from 4.7. took a long time to install, download, etc etc. but i finally got it. everything works great except i am worrying about reception. it didnt seem as tho i was getting what i should however time will tell.. thanks everyone for your responses!
Got a Javelin as well.... My first OS 5.0 was .190 and it was the best OS i had in a long, long time... Now I just upgraded to .238 thinking there was nothing it could excel from .190, but I was wrong... It's a lot more faster to me, so without hesitation .238 is the way to go if you're looking for trying a 5.0 OS...
I just jumped onto 238 last night form 190. IMO They're both great OS's I haven't had issues with 190 at all. I've been fooling with my phone on 238 since about 7:00 est. and no problems. Seems like 238 is a little more crisp & speedier IMO.
Man I can't wait for RIM to release the official version so I can update. I have read probably dozens of threads about troubleshooting, upgrading and downgrading the OS but still dont want to take the chance...I really don't want to brick my 8900. But you guys make it soooo hard to resist! lol
if a forum moderator upgraded means is good but b4 i do it i wanna do my homework well and so far i c a lot of ppl not having any issues w it so i would like to ask if its any feature change and if all the apps run w/o any problems.
