Guys ENOUGH! It's for the 9520! Is your model the 9520? If it is, then YES. this will work for you. if it isn't, then NO. You'll have to wait for some hybrids to come out (which won't take long).

doesn't work for me- and I've loaded plenty of OS's. I have a uk Vodafone 9520 (DRM). So is this the drm version? I was at 497- and still there

Yes deleted the vendor.xml and even tried uninstalling all the 9520 sftware from the PC. It just does not install by loader or DM

Many of us are aware that this is for the 9520. I suppose a better question is, has anyone tested the Java from this with the 9550 radio?

Well, you could be like me and download it at 3 is morning before going to work and expecting to install when you get home. Only to realize when you get home it is for the 9520, not the 9550....

I'm hoping, if we get a DRM version, that the battery life is better than .497, which is cack! I have to charge about 6 hours earlier than with the previous version, with the same daily usage!

Hold it, hold it, my fellow 9520 users!

Only a few of us are DRM doomed. A couple of friends over at BBOS tried to discuss this matter earlier already. The 100% DRM devices are branded 9520s from the following providers:

    [ DRM ]

    9520M_PBr5.0.0_rel721_PL4.2.0.189_A5.0.0.436_Mobil y.exe
    9520M_PBr5.0.0_rel721_PL4.2.0.189_A5.0.0.436_Vodaf one_Egypt.exe
    9520M_PBr5.0.0_rel721_PL4.2.0.189_A5.0.0.436_Vodaf one_Netherlands.exe
    9520M_PBr5.0.0_rel721_PL4.2.0.189_A5.0.0.436_Vodaf one_UK.exe

    9520M_PBr5.0.0_rel545_PL4.2.0.146_A5.0.0.341_TIM_I taly.exe

    9520M_PBr5.0.0_rel475_PL4.2.0.113_A5.0.0.306_Vodaf one_DE.exe
    (http://support.vodafone.de/publicfil...2.0.113_A5.0.0
    .306.exe)
    9520M_PBr5.0.0_rel475_PL4.2.0.113_A5.0.0.306_Vodaf one_Italy.exe
    9520M_PBr5.0.0_rel475_PL4.2.0.113_A5.0.0.306_Vodaf one_Ireland.exe
    9520M_PBr5.0.0_rel475_PL4.2.0.113_A5.0.0.306_Vodaf one_Spain.exe

But there are some lucky ones who have no-DRM 9520s branded and of course the unbranded anyway. For them the OS is absolutely OK to load. As these lucky "basterds" are 9520s from:

    [ NO DRM ]

    9520_omanodrmjEastAsia_PBr5.0.0_rel721_PL4.2.0.189 _A5.0.0.436_Celcom_Malaysia.exe
    9520_omanodrmjEastAsia_PBr5.0.0_rel721_PL4.2.0.189 _A5.0.0.436_M1.exe

    9520_omanodrmM_PBr5.0.0_rel721_PL4.2.0.189_A5.0.0. 436_Etisalat.exe
    9520_omanodrmM_PBr5.0.0_rel721_PL4.2.0.189_A5.0.0. 436_Globul.exe
    9520_omanodrmM_PBr5.0.0_rel721_PL4.2.0.189_A5.0.0. 436_MobiTel_Bulgaria.exe
    9520_omanodrmM_PBr5.0.0_rel721_PL4.2.0.189_A5.0.0. 436_MTC_Touch.exe
    9520_omanodrmM_PBr5.0.0_rel721_PL4.2.0.189_A5.0.0. 436_Nawras.exe
    9520_omanodrmM_PBr5.0.0_rel721_PL4.2.0.189_A5.0.0. 436_Qtel.exe
    9520_omanodrmM_PBr5.0.0_rel721_PL4.2.0.189_A5.0.0. 436_Telenor_Pakistan.exe
    9520_omanodrmM_PBr5.0.0_rel721_PL4.2.0.189_A5.0.0. 436_Zain_Jordan.exe

REMEMBER! Those are only a few examples and NOT the complete list! So, branded 9520s from any other provider have to try or check out their OS folder, which radio file (.sfi) of an OFFICIAL OS for the branded device they are running.

DRM: the .sfi file will read rim0x0D001404.sfi

no-DRM: the .sfi will read rim0x0E001404.sfi

    Have fun!

Ok, as far as I could find out no-DRM 9520s are:

    Europe:

    - O2 UK
    - BT Mobile

    Asia:

    - Singtel

    etc.

This was just a short check. I don't have time to graze through all the providers
