Default Why Not a 5.0.140 Base Hybrid??

I know there are glitches with the media player and certain apps dont work, but there is allot to like about 5.0.140. Why not build a hybrid with .140 as the base and sub in 5.0.100 files from the bold or 5.0.130 files from the tour to fix the issues in .140?? Why start with 4.7.151 as your base? Cant you just start with higher radio code and work backwards for files that dont work so well?? I would think this can be done, but I am sure the people who actually know how to do this will chime in.

Thanks
Dennis

from my understanding its been attempted by a few and the 5.0 just dont mesh with much else. im sure someone will figure something out but most early results have been a no-go.

What I am saying is mesh 5.0 with 5.0. Start with 5.0.140 as base, sub in 5.0.100 and 5.0.130 files for fixes. Can this be done?? If not, has anyone tried?

5.0+ at this point is not very application friendly. i know i personally wouldn't switch to a 5.0.140 base hybrid until the application compatibility issues have been fixed

I am not so concerned about being super app friendly, sure I miss my facebook, but 5.0.140 was leaked way before it should have been and I would not expect the app makers to be ready for it. App fix would be a plus though. But it may just be that app makers have to adjust their programming to 5.0.140 and later builds and not the other way around.
What I am looking for is Media Player fixes for when it stops playing your media for no reason, or when you leave your media player open and go to open it again after a few hours of not using it and then it reboots, also not being able to open my sms's is really a pain!!

The reason I ask for a Hybrid is because I am thinking if anything else is leaked, it wont be close to as high a build as 5.0.140, not for a few months anyways.

Its a sound proposition it should work if 5.0 doesn't mesh with 4.7 I find no fault in you logic. However finding one with the ca hones to try to build will be tough Lyricidal i thinks could pull shuch a build off if and when he has time I am a big fan of his works I would be willing to beta test any such hybrids if and when they are available.
Lyricidal's built 4.7 with 5.0 they can play nice if anyone has his latest hybrid... You know of the joys it is a solid build.

I understand what your saying. If you take part of the 5.0 files from each different 5.0 OS that is out there and make a hybrid. Kind of like a Mutt OS. Im not sure how that works because if the files from the Bold 5.0 OS are older than the storm 5.0 OS than it might not be beneficial to us to mix and match. The only way to really know is to do it and let us know what you come up with.

Again,
I would not be the one doing the Build, I have no idea how. I was hoping someone like Lyricidal would chime in.

That would be like putting Windows 98 files into a Windows 7 OS. It wouldn't work. I think it was a stroke of luck that as many 3rd party apps worked as well as they did with 140. I doubt the hybrid makers are going to work backwards on this one.

Im sure one of the hybrid builders have tried this. It sure seems easier than a 4.7 and 5.0 mix. Have you tried to PM one of them yet.

howdy hoooo
after I put up beta6v6 (.151/.164/5.0 hybrid) I will attempt a 5.0 hybrid - I didn't do that from the beginning because of issues with 5.0 and my carrier - Browser was gone and media player wouldnt work - there are now some fixes available so I will give them a shot
also, gonna try to get ahold of 5.0.0.92 to try to use files from it for fixes (such as Alarm clock - that is if it worked in that release

The question is why? People built hybrids with 5.0s from other phones because a 5.0 release was not available for the storm. There is no reason to go putting 5.0 files from the bold or the curve on the storm when you already have 5.0.

There is some issues that the storm 5.0 build has, where the bold or curve do not have:

media player
message notification.
themes and applications compatibility,

the big issue is gonna be the 9530 5.0 radio. if it doesnt wanna play nice with the other 5.0 files(from bold and tour or whatever your using) then its not gonna work.
