Default What os are you running?

Hi everyone.

I was just wondering, I had a 8520, 9300 and now a 9700. I have always updated to every leak that came out. On the later two models I even tried all the OS6 leaks and some official ones that became available.

My experience is still that OS6 is not there yet and its mainly due to the memory leak. On the 9300 it was as a result of viewing other members pictures in BBM and on the 9700 due to the browser. It is so frustrating because I love OS6 and the whole experience of it.

I find myself going back to OS5 everytime for the stability and less issues it gives me. I am currently running 5.0.0.862 on my Bold. It has been the best so far.

What are you running and why?

5.0.0.862 on my 9700, because it works and I can't be arsed to update to OS6

6.0.0.480 on my 9780, because it's the best OS6 release for any device... period!

6.0.0.448 on my 9800. Way better than stock. And much better than 5.0 was on my previous 9000. Some phones and 6.0 may not be there yet but the Torch is ready to go.

I am running OS6.....461 for about 2-3 weeks now on my 9700.

I think OS6 is great and would never go back to OS5.

I find .461 to be very stable and really see no issues with it except a very slight leak. Not enough to be a problem for me.

Running 6.0.0.461 on my 9700. I've considered moving up to 6.0.0.499 but it appears there's more issues than .461...

.448. Had .499 on for the weekend, but found more memory leaking than .448. That was even after removing Quick Pull which seems to be giving issues.

Running 6.0.0.499 on my 9700. Memory leak is bad, but I have Quickpull set to reset during the night so it doesn't really bother me (I un-installed Quickpull to see if that was causing the leak, and it wasn't). Other than the memory leak, it seems almost perfect. Browser is faster than 448 / 461, BBM cursor is fixed. Wifi / GPS lock fast. Facebook cursor still disappears if you scroll too fast, but it's not a huge deal for me as I don't use fb all that much.

6.0.0.524 on the 9650. Which is now the best OS on any device model. Super battery life and very fast.

Running .418 on my 9700. I tried .499 and didn't like it. I have done A LOT of version testing and find that running a shrunken version of 418 is the most stable version out thus far. The facebook scrolling problem is not there and my memory leak is minimal (15 mb and stabilizes and drops no further). I have a total of 87.5MB of free application memory on startup, and the battery lasts me a little over 80 hours, with consistant use, mostly web browsing, BBM, email and texting. I also have my WiFi on all the time, using UMA at work and home.

I hope this helps

How do you determine the memory leak?

I use MeterBerry to do it. It logs the memory at startup and shows you how much you lose over time. There are other apps that do similar things
