FYI, if you guys are waiting for feedback on .42 before upgrading, that's understandable. IF you're waiting because you think there's a difference between the leaked and official, you would be wrong. The official is the same as the leaked, just without a carrier's blessing.

I am curious as to whether or not this will be a wireless update when released? Anyone know?

Mine is running fine, haven't noticed any differences really, but I'm also at work so not really on the berry either.
No issues so far. Then again, I didn't have issues with this Tour (first had trackball problem). - 09-08-2009, 10:19 AM #42

My biggest hope is that the MR1 will rectify my problems with data signal instability. I've been lucky to not have any of the other popular Tour issues with both my units, but the one thorn has been dropping in and out of 3G and EV more often than not.
I know this has been an area that others have claimed to have solved with new device swaps, but I recall my 8703 having similar signal issues when they first came out and an OS release stabilized a lot of it. I'm hoping history repeats itself with the Tour.
I can stand in one place, signal strength would be near full strength (1XEV) @ 3G, and as soon as I hit the web or send a PIN, I can see it drop out of 3G, go into 1Xev, 1X, the some seconds later, go back to 1XEV (all of which happens while standing in one place). This usually causes a delay/lag in data transmission/receipt. Annoying. At my workplace, my 8703 and even my older 7290 would always be very consistent and signal strength was always strong. The Tour, so far, has been very tempermental at best.
Here's wishing that .142 MR will fix signal strength issues, along with some of the other minor annoyances.
I really HATE to swap out devices as everything else appears to be behaving just fine.
Please forward assessements as they become available. Thanks. - 09-08-2009, 10:28 AM #44
