Default Torch Hybrid OS + PlayBook Tethering?

I asked this question in the PlayBook section - with no response. I thought I'd reach out to this forum for some insight.

As you know, the PlayBook can tether and it can bridge with a connection to the BlackBerry. This question is related to tethering.

For me, tethering speeds are slow (360kbs) when paired with my Torch.

Is the hybrid OS I am using, version .450, a possible reason? In other words, can a BB OS actually affect the tethering speed - or is tethering just on or off, regardless of OS?

I can only connect to the tether option: isp.cingular for ATT. It just seems so slow... 3G tethering is part of my part of my plan.

Everything work so well on the Torch that I don't want to upgrade its OS. Plus, when I do it takes a few hours since I'm on BES (help desk, authorization ticket, etc.) and something else always gets goofed up on the handheld (like browser re-sizing, app. compatability, calendar requests not appearing, etc.).

So, if it is possible that the OS can affect tethering speed, I may consider switching. If that is unlikely - then, I must resolve to the fact that it is what it is.

Thanks!
