I'm running a bbh one that's flawless. I don't know how irtehun keeps doing it but his builds get incrementally better. This phone is going to scream.

Can either of you fellow crackberrians tell me if the hybrid fixes the dimming bug when going into landscape.

So what does it do differently? Just run faster and free up some space?
Curve 8330 => Storm2 9550 with 5.0.0.1015 (NOT OS6!
) => Motorola Droid OG => iPhone 4

yes, everything responds better. Someone mentioned in another post how the buttons on the bottom work better- they do. Flawless is a way to describe the phone now. Its extremely fast, does not drain memory and my battery life seems to be improved. My signal is the same, im sure that has to do with the base os, but the phone is running the way it should have been first out the box

Ok. So the next question is. How do we get our hands on it? Surely you had to download it to your comp. So you should have a copy of the OS.

Oh boy. It starts!
Summie - you should read around here for a tutorial. It's not just a simple step one and two. This should get you started...
How To: Upgrade your BlackBerry Operating System (OS) | BlackBerry Rocks! - 11-15-2009, 08:02 AM #19
You have to make sure first that .230 is installed on your PC. After that you install the Hybrid on top of that. It's a .exe file and is pretty self explanatory from there. You can shrink your OS if you like to save on app memory. Then you launch loader and it installs.

anyone try this yet?

Perform a full backup prior to updating. Once the update is complete, you can restore your messages/apps/settings. There was an issue I remember when updating in the storm1 because of the jump from 4.7 to 5.0 software, but I would doubt that there is a similar issue on this phone since we would be going from 5.0 to 5.0 software. All the programs that work on your phone now should work in the hybrid, but I can't guarantee that.
