Still need to delete any files for installation on T-Mobile 9700?

My friend has a 9700 and is coming over for me to upgrade his phone to OS 6...

I know that a while back you had to delete :


net_rim_theme_tmobile_BlackBerry6_480x360_b.cod
net_rim_theme_tmobileeu_BlackBerry6_480x360_b.cod


Is that step still necessary?

I haven't deleted those in a long time either. I'm running 461 now but I downloaded the leaked version and I had to download VVM from 448 using BBoss.
