Default RIM leaked OS 6.0.0.534

Question, I noticed a memory leak with this installed OS 6 on my Bold 9700. After reading the threads of other Bold 9700 owners that downloaded this version and was having the same problem with memory leak. My question is this; is the memory leak a software or hardware problem and can the problem be resolved with a newer version of the OS 6??

You will get a memory leak in any version of OS6 but it can be managed if you 'shrink' prior to install to remove unwanted/unneeded files and some versions work better for some than others, just need to try different versions to find the best one for you.

The memory leak is basically a side effect of bugs the developers have not fixed yet completely. in OS 5, it was perfected and there is no leak, but there is in OS 6.

OS5 leaked too, butthere was a lot more room to play with. It also usually bottomed out, where OS6 won't. It has been improving, but a daily battery pull is just a fact of life now. As Andy said, shrink the OS as much as you can. You may also want to look at some of your apps, or try a different OS6 to see if one performs better for you.
