Default Great idea on the thread of its own..

For those having problems with the install, I just started doing it this way.

Delete all of the internal files of the .148 os, (leave the folders).
Download OOAKPC's magical zip.
Extract to desktop.
starting with the .alx's, transfer to the hollowed out OS folder, then go to OOAK's removed folder and transfer those also.
Go to cdma highlight the file and select "move to", move it to the OS cdma folder this way.
Do the same with the java files, (I also re add all of the remaining "removed files"), need my wordmole..
Now run Lyricidal's shrink-a-os.
I've installed the last 3 using the apploader exe instead of desktop manager and it has been quick and painless.

For anyone that has an earlier version of his hybrids, this one seems to smoke them all so far. Speed is awesome, memory management is the best so far, battery life is also way up there.
I was playing with one of the non working themes last night after I loaded this version and managed to have some functionality with it, made it a good 15 minutes before I got the 523 error, so maybe there is some hope down the not too far down the road for a fix for this one.

My finds:

1. Browser is as fast as I've ever experienced

2. Swiping up keyboard does not work

3. I am getting more clocks than 148

It appears from what I've read that the camera is the only glitch. I could give a you know what about the square in the middle but are you sure it takes pics the same as before with the same quality? I use the camera all the time so I just want to check. thanks again!
My pics came out crystal clear.

The One's hybrids are already stripped down to the bone. Lyricidal's shrink-a-os is not needed.

I re add everything and restrip because I need a lot of the removed stuff for work, such as PW keeper and docs2go, and I like wordmole.
I don't use vlingo, so really don't want VAD.
This saves me from having to redo everything one file at a time to suit my needs.

You can.
As a rule it's always better to put data in an empty field
than it is to overwrite an existing file. That's one way files corrupt.
There is no one way it has to be done, all of this stuff is really personal preference.
Kinda like wiping or not before an install.

You can use it as a base no problem! But replacing the hybrid files with the stock ones could be messy. It's just easier to empty the OS folder then drop in the hybrid contents.

Mute?

The bug I'm referring to is when you play a video via your sd card the volume will be locked to it's current level. You cannot raise or lower the volume while the video is playing. You have to stop the video or pause it and then adjust the volume to your desired level.

The stock 148 OS works fine and Slacker works fine. I think it's a 5.0 file that is not playing nice with the other java files.

But like it has been proven that problem is gone. While my video is playing I can once again adjust the volume.

How many people experience good battery results? Every .148 hybrid I run my battery life runs out twice as fast as it used to. I've noticed on version 6 the clock and my data arrows are a lot more noticeable.

Yea I'm having clocks all over the place, certainly a major step backwards from 148 for me.

I've been unplugged since 5:00 Am this morning and it's now 10:00 Am and I'm @ 91% battery life.

That's about how my battery always runs. Even before I used hybrids.

You know The One once told me after a hybrid install to let the battery drop low then turn off the phone by pressing the the red button in until it shuts down then charging it overnight. The next morning turn it back and on and the battery life should improve.

You could try that.
