Default New OS 6 leak for 9700?

It's been about a month since .534 came out. Anyone think we'll see a new OS 6 leak for the 9700 anytime soon? .526 had a pretty big memory leak for me when I tried it. I started off with 113MB and was at 90 within an hour. Used BB Boss to shrink. Just wondering if anyone knows the cycle of OS leaks?

Yeah I'm not sure when we'll be seeing a new leak, it's been awhile. We don't see leaks for any BB at all lately, dunno what is up with that!

Hopefully soon. See your running .534. I ran .526 for a day and the memory leak was so bad. How is .534 for you?

Ever think maybe "BB Boss" was the reason behind the link??

To save space all you need to do is delete the media and fonts .cod files.

Im suspecting they are concentrating their works to playbook OS now.

Was prompted to install 6.0 on my Bold this morning. WOW! What a change to the UI!! Will take some getting used to. I don't play brick breaker that often, but I'm VERY disappointed that you can't just exit the game and have it pause automatically. You now have to switch apps. Otherwise, you will exit the game and have to start a new game next time you launch.

It's not bad, there's still some memory leak, but I can tolerate it i guess. I don't think there's many improvements over .526 ...

I can personally assure you that BB Boss is not the reason for the memory leaks.

It is well documented that OS6 has a memory leak problem, some versions being better than others. One of the big reasons behind the "leakage" is because of the web browser and universal search integration. They both cache and index things on your phone for faster access to the information when you use universal search and browse the web. I run a BB Boss shrunk .534 and it leaks down approx. 15mb and then stabilizes.

Yes, but you know how the use the program. What about all the Newbie(s) that dowload the program, start checking things to be deleted without having a clue what they're doing, load the OS and then bit@h when they get errors and/or a bad memory leak??

If the web browser and universal search were the cause, then all OS6 devices would be suffering... and they're not.

It's the device itself that's causing the leak. The 9700 just can't handle OS6, period.

15mb is a ridiculous amount of leakage! I'd be concerned if my 9780 leaked 1mb

My work 9700 handles OS6 just fine - I just don't pretend it an iPhone and load it down with 100+ stupid apps...

Sure, the 9700 can 'run' OS6, I'm not disputing that... it just can't handle the memory requirement effectively.

Can you honestly say you've had no memory leak? or 'page too large' error?

.534 and I only deleted media files and fonts and I have no memory leak - I had a memory leak with some of the eariler builds tho...

I don't pretent my 9700 is a desktop computer so I don't go to full websites and get the 'page too large' error...

Just that it is not a leak. It is official release
    I just can't download it

I don't have long experience with BB, but I don't remember in the past months an OS being officially released without being leaked earlier...

I have been having severe "freezing" issues with OS6 since 424, which I think is related to the device storage memory becoming full, as I am prompted to delete apps.

I recently went back to 418 and find the battery drop issue easier to live with than my phone being unresponsive for minutes at a time.

I'm looking forward to upgrading to the 9900, and OS7

Absolutely you can, after you've removed the Vendor.
Please follow the instructions I left on the 1st Page of that thread, and you'll be golden.

My 9700 can handle OS6, bit of 6.1 and I don't get site too large errors pfft. And no leak, I pay for what I use. I am a real user of the BB with 9 emails facebook, foursquare, browsing, reading the bible at church, twitter with good followers/following numbers....

I use to accuse apple of incremental upgrades with their iphone 3gs to iphone4, but I am cursing RIM of the same. Until they come with a dual core, I will be sticking to the 9700 and a hybrid of course.

If the 9700 can't handle OS6, why are there so many OFFICIAL releases? I think I've just answered my question with a question

There are so many official 6.0.0.534's now.

I think BlackBerry are taking a break from developing new software but never the less. Waiting for a new leak. Shouldn't be far away as there was one that was released last week for the Torch. So we should be expecting soon.

9700 handles OS 6 better than 9000 can handle OS 5.
