Default Multiple calendars not all syncing with Outlook

I noticed that in 4.5 you can select which calendar to use when setting an appointment. I have it set to show appointments from all calendars. However what I've found is that it will only sync appointments with Outlook for either the first calendar or perhaps it's the one associated with my default e-mail. Happens to be the same for me so I'm not sure. In any case, this seems like a big problem or at least it makes it useless to have these multiple calendars.

I believe it synchs with the email associated with outlook that you are synching with.

I'm not sure what that means. In Outlook you can have multiple calendars but I don't see any way to associate a calendar with a particular e-mail address.

I'm having the same problem. In my case I have two PCs running Outlook. The calendars, tasks, and contacts are kept in sync between the two Outlooks using Syncing.Net. I am NOT syncing the emails between these two versions of Outlook.

I sync my BB to the Outlook that I run at work. However, the default email ID on my BB points to one of my home email IDs. So......it isn't associated with the copy of Outlook being synced with.

For grins, I checked the field mapping that the DM sync routine uses (Synchronize / Configuration Synchronization / Synchronization / Calendar / Advanced / Map Fields...). There is not even a field available for email ID. My guess (and that's all it is) is that 4.5 arbitrarily puts your BB default email ID into every imported calendar entry.

IF that is true; then the problem should only occur with calendar entries created pre-4.5 (when there was no default email ID). All calendar entires created post-4.5 would be assigned your default email ID during the sync with Outlook, and would therefore appear in your Calendar AND in your Today page. At least that's what I'm guessing.

The idea of choosing the calendar is interesting if for no other reason than to specify what e-mail address the invitations for meetings come from. However I expect it to all sync up on Outlook somehow and that definitely ain't happening. Like d.white, I looked around in various options on both the BB and Desktop Manager sync and in Outlook and couldn't find anything about this.

Sorry for "topping this out". I went to Options - > Advanced -> Default Services and changed the Calendar setting to the non default Email address and tried syncing. The Calendar does not even synchronize with DM.

I have found that the only workaround is actually to merge the calendars into one central calendar then sync.

If you want to have a single calendar, then view one calendar, hit View - Current View - All appointments. Select everything listed and copy them over to the other calendar

I don't have these options on my curve. There is no option to view all appointments and copy them over. Any idea how to copy all appointments from one calendar to another on the curve 8330?

There's a utility called CalendarSync might help you out. This utility will allow you to move/copy events from one calendar into another on the device, something that the BlackBerry doesn't inherantly provide. Then, whatever calendar you use as your default (BES/Desktop, Device Default, etc) will work as a single merged calendar regardless of how many email/calendar combinations you have. I use this tool and highly recommend it, allows me to merge all my "pop" calendars into my BES calendar with zero headache.

Download CalendarSync

Cheers...
