Default Loader.exe doesn't recognize 5.0 - help!

Hi, I'm looking for some assistance. I've downloaded leaked OS's and have added a few hybrids so far to my device but now I'm having trouble with the Desktop Manager. I downloaded and installed the Alltel 419 release for my Verizon 4.7 phone. I noticed that the DM doesn't show the 5.0 software, so I tried loading the new OS like always from Loader.exe, which has worked before, deleted the vendor file, but now i get a message in the Loader app wizard that says

"The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator"

I've already uninstalled Desktop Manager, reinstalled and uninstalled the 419 and reinstalled and get the same error every time. Any idea how to resolve?

Thanks

This is happening to me too. Running vista home premium. Never happened before, just tried to update this morning to a hybrid of 5.0 for the 9000 and bam. I've tried all kinds of things. Good thing I remembered to create a backup, but maybe that wont work either.

Can't really give you any help on Windows 7 since I am running Vista 64, but maybe this will help. I always disconnect my internet service before I do any upgrades/hybrid installs. I just unplug my wireless USB adapter and never had a failure loading the OS. But one thing I may be doing differently, I always wipe my phone first with BBSAK (after backing it up of course) then use the "Load OS" feature right from BBSAK. Hope this helps, sorry I haven't upgraded to '7' yet,, this is one of the reasons.

I had the same problem. I could not get loader.exe or DM to recognize the new OS.
So I used BBSAK and all went well.

Download and run the new OS. Backup your phone on Desktop Manager. And download BBSAK version 1.7.
Then start BBSAK. Plug in your phone to your computer. On BBSAK do backup, then wipe, then load new OS.
I was afraid to do it this way because "wipe" scared me but it went flawlessly and took less than 30 minutes for the whole procedure.

I know the feeling... even after a dozen or so wipes, I still have a fear in me until I see it start re-loading the OS. Great little program for sure,, I am still using 1.5, maybe I'll try the newer 1.7 one of these days.

I find that in Windows 7, you have to right-click on apploader and then select "run as administrator" in order for the program to recognize the installed OS.

Are you honestly telling me that pulling your battery off while you're connected made the difference? Jesus these are some fickle little devices lol

I installed bbsak 1.7 and launched apploader with that, and it worked perfectly. I don't know what difference bbsak made, but it worked... Just happened.
