BlackBerry Torch 9860 users are getting some love today. OS 7.1.0.714 has leaked out today for the Torch 9860. We’re unsure as to what might be different in this OS, so you’ll have to let us know what you might find. As with any leaked OS, be sure to backup your BlackBerry before installing.

What about the 9900?

Updating now. I doubt there will be anything new or interesting. But hopefully it has the awesomeness of 649 minus the random leak of memory

The leak looks normal at the moment, but it is WAY to early to tell. 649 happened around 1-2 days at the earliest. The battery life is ok. I think battery life is sorta same through all the OS editions in the ones released in the past year
I never had an audio bug, not sure where it stung you :O - 09-19-2012, 12:54 PM #10
I think the only difference between the 9860 and 9850 edition is the radio file. So if you swap out the radio file for a 9850 one, it should install. Remember to use the most recent radio file. If you stick a 7.0 one in there, it won't work

Play music through headphones, (some report also speaker) pause music (not stop), then play. Sound is reduced, hollow and tinny. Stopping music and restarting fixes. Its annoying more than prohibitive.

Can someone please check the ability to edit word substitution entries which was broken in the last build?

Ok just finished loading about an hour ago:
Audio bug is still there (WTF?)
Auto text/word substitution bug is fixed.
more memory than .649 (I'm at 170M free now up from 148) - 09-19-2012, 05:59 PM #19
What is the audio bug?
- 09-19-2012, 09:06 PM #20
I've never experienced the audio bug, so I don't know what is wrong with it.
I never had problems with word substitution in 649, or any OS before it.
As for the app switching, I'm not sure why they went back to the old view.
I liked the new view.
The Phone function keeps it's new look though with the larger numbers - 09-19-2012, 09:17 PM #21
Installed:
Blazing fast!
Boots wayyy faster! Memory seems better too!
The Scorch is deffinately on par with the iPhone 4S... I haven't seen the 5 (iOS6) in action yet - so cant compare..I'm still here, happily rocking my leaked 7.1 Scorch (ahem Torch 9860, a.k.a. Storm 3)

it's been more than 12hrs on .714. much better than .649 on network signal and locking of signal. Battery drainage is much better. I was using BL hybrid RC5B2 over base .523, it was amazing build but I couldn't resist to test this newer release.
