Will wait for feedbacks from other people. Currently, my 9860 is happy with 7.1.0.190. Specially the battery life.

At this point, I think it can only get better, since 7.1 is new, RIM is simply hammering out the bugs, like OS 2 for PB. It doesn't mean anything for the battery life though. Often, with performance, you sacrifice battery life. I will note that 7.1.0.190 has not the best wifi reception. I will be testing this out tonight.
And for those who say leak os's can brick, ummmmm, are you doing it right? I have never had this issue, even with the ultimate bricker, Storm 2 9550.

Just a heads up, anyone wanting to wait, be prepared to wait until tomorrow as it takes 24 hours to really see how an OS is going to perform. If you're fine with .190 then stick with it until definitive feedback comes through. If you've had problems, then .205 will likely be worth trying now.
For now, suffice it to say that this is a fairly big download (250MB) and it's currently downloading quite slowly...On Twitter: k_r_y_p_t_o - 01-18-2012, 04:00 PM #6
Oh goodie, hopefully this brings Wifi Calling to the 9860 on Rogers (7.1.0.190 didn't).
I guess I shall find out tonight/tomorrow...!Klotar

Just curious, anyone know if Telus Mobility supports wifi calling?
I think 7.1.0.190 had rather nice battery life, given the size of the system compared to 7.0. I have yet to see any system beat 7.0.0.474 on battery life though, and it had relatively good wifi reception. On .190, weaker wifi connections wouldn't start, especially those with odd wifi settings.
I do agree that battery life feedback will take about 24 hrs at the very least, but i think a general picture can be inferred in the first few hours
For those who are hesitant, dig around the installation folder and see if you find anything interesting or new, or a dramatic change in file size. Those will usually tell you what the difference is. And, when worse comes to worse, if the battery life is bad, you can always make a hybrid with .190 radio file, and .205 java folder.

Do yourself a favour and use this little program to help find it: Everything Search Engine
...don't even have to install it. There's a simple executable that you can download and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.Last edited by fillzy; 01-18-2012 at 05:40 PM.

I can't see anything different with this build. Very inconsiderate of these people to leak OS's without a change log! ;-)
Someone asked re Network Modes.
VodafoneAU has;
3G
2G
3G & 2G - 01-18-2012, 07:55 PM #21
Well successfully install and running quite smoothly I have to say. So far so good one batt pull and a few restarts with apps and down to 9.3%/hr so not to bad. Also mobile hotspot is still there and working (Rogers ). Also for network modes: 3g/h+, 2g, 3g/h+/2g for Rogers. Will report back with anything else/batt later.
So far a win on a Wednesday

Will report back within a day or two. Just installed this on my phone and configured a few of my apps.
I noticed after the install that my gmail calendars were disabled for sync. I had to re-enable them.
Menu transitions feels snappier and the keyboard feels more accurate.
I have never noticed this before, but the Blackberry maps there is now a little icon that searches for deals within this area.
The battery drainage on .190 settled down for me after a day. The first day the battery died, but after I was able to get atleast two days on a single charge. I don't have Facebook, but I'm a believer that the Facebook app consumes a lot of battery on the Blackberry OS.
