Will wait for feedbacks from other people. Currently, my 9860 is happy with 7.1.0.190. Specially the battery life.

At this point, I think it can only get better, since 7.1 is new, RIM is simply hammering out the bugs, like OS 2 for PB. It doesn't mean anything for the battery life though. Often, with performance, you sacrifice battery life. I will note that 7.1.0.190 has not the best wifi reception. I will be testing this out tonight.
And for those who say leak os's can brick, ummmmm, are you doing it right? I have never had this issue, even with the ultimate bricker, Storm 2 9550.

Just a heads up, anyone wanting to wait, be prepared to wait until tomorrow as it takes 24 hours to really see how an OS is going to perform. If you're fine with .190 then stick with it until definitive feedback comes through. If you've had problems, then .205 will likely be worth trying now.

For now, suffice it to say that this is a fairly big download (250MB) and it's currently downloading quite slowly...

Oh goodie, hopefully this brings Wifi Calling to the 9860 on Rogers (7.1.0.190 didn't).

I guess I shall find out tonight/tomorrow...!

Just curious, anyone know if Telus Mobility supports wifi calling?
I think 7.1.0.190 had rather nice battery life, given the size of the system compared to 7.0. I have yet to see any system beat 7.0.0.474 on battery life though, and it had relatively good wifi reception. On .190, weaker wifi connections wouldn't start, especially those with odd wifi settings.
I do agree that battery life feedback will take about 24 hrs at the very least, but i think a general picture can be inferred in the first few hours
For those who are hesitant, dig around the installation folder and see if you find anything interesting or new, or a dramatic change in file size. Those will usually tell you what the difference is. And, when worse comes to worse, if the battery life is bad, you can always make a hybrid with .190 radio file, and .205 java folder.

VENDOR.XML

Do yourself a favour and use this little program to help find it: Everything Search Engine

...don't even have to install it. There's a simple executable that you can download and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

Default Ability to toggle between 2G and 3G/4G?

Can anyone comment on the ability to manually switch between 2G and 3G/4G mode under "Manage Connections"?

Many Thanks!
