That's correct.

8330 is a CDMA device. It's going to show 1XEV because it's connecting via the EVDO connection.

3G was most likely because you had a hybrid loaded before, correct?

1XEV is what any standard "official" version should show. Sometimes it says 3G if you loaded a hybrid or something like that as your previous version since people mix/match files. So you're all good my friend.

Brandon.r posted a screenshot of his 8330 on Verizon with 3G by the network indicator.

Does your Options, About screen shw the proper OS version as the screenshots posted?

I had the .169 installed, no hybrid, I asked because I saw a picture of someones home page showing a 3G icon so I was wondering if I did something wrong, but I'm glad everything it's ok!! I'm gonna keep looking closer to the new things of this OS, thanks again!! great help!!!

would this load on my gf's 8310 on att?? just curious

as for the 3g, i got this OS installed on my storm its suppose to show 3g regardless of cdma. verizon is doing the change just for that bling factor b.c most people dont understand 1exv is same as 3g.

i know it dont work on the storm doubt it would be any different, but does bbm5.0 work on your curves??

MsCooley has the same problem. She's sleeping on it.

Did you get "agressive" using Shrink a OS before loading the Beta?

Nope, its just for the 8330! The 8310 has 64MB which wouldn't be able to load this OS cause its 80MB.

Thnx, •Tripster•

It could be a theme, or setting. Maybe, as someone mentioned, Verizon or other carriers changing the icon to make it more "understandable" to the general public. Who knows.

By default, though, it doesn't really matter what shows. 1XEV is "technically" what it is using regardless. So honestly you could look into it, and maybe get it to say 3G but really it doesn't matter.

If you have a connection to their BIS/BES system and your EVDO connection is being used... then just rejoice.

but why would the os that was previously loaded on the device have an effect on the new os? you have to wipe your device of the old os before putting this new one on? so wouldn't it come with the 3g?
