I did a few battery pulls throughout the 2 days and somehow it just got better after that. Not sure if that was what did the trick.

A lot of thanks from Greek Blackberry community. This os update is the latest for my ''old'' 9780. 9900 continues the saga

Hi have anyone tried this OS 6 bundle 2858 yet? any bugs? I wanted to upgrade but not sure if it is better than OS 6 Bundle 2534. What are the improvements? any lagging? appreciate those that are using this upgrade to share their experience.

Strange thing though, I cannot seem to load the older 480 OS anymore, either via desktop manager or manually activating loader. I've re-installed the OS several times (removed vendor.xml), wiped the phone etc. The system tells me that it can't find a software suitable for my phone. Anyone knows why?

try using platform.alx from any 6.0.0.5xx OS

    platform.alx 576 worked for me ....

When you also delete the vendor.xml in: C - Users - Usersname - AppData - Roaming - Research in Motion - Blackberry - Loader XML ....

When you delete both you can install what you want!

Great tip, will try that next time. I'm quite tired of changing ROMs as it takes me forever to put everything back!

After a week of being on the 650, I find that it has amazing battery life. I was on the 480 for the longest time as it was (to me) the most stable build. On the 480, a single full charge would go down to 25% at the end of the day. On the 650, I've been getting 70% at the end of the day consistently for the past few days. My usage pattern has not changed. So far, I haven not found any reason to fault it, except that it can't seem to use the cosmic themes that have fixed icons at the lower tray.

I agree - this build has been rock solid for me. The only bug that I'm aware of (and which I'm told was introduced at .600 onwards) is that when you're using a 3rd party theme then from the Apps screen Menu | Options doesn't do anything. But not a big issue in my case.

I haven't seen any OTA updates appearing in the past 10 days - maybe I was found out!

    Cheers,
    CB

For those of us stuck in the XP world, the path is:
    C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

I 100% agree with you about the battery life in .650 compared to .600 and prior.
Before .650 i couldnt go a whole day without popping in the trusty backup battery because Twitter kills battery, however on .650 even with increased usage i can go from 10AM to 10PM on a single charge without worrying about dying (Y)

2 days on, I still have 40% of battery life left. It's either this OS is amazing or there's something wrong in the way battery power is sensed! LOL!

I'm having the same problem. I've changed OS's quite a few times on other BBs both from Desktop Manager and just running the Loader.exe, but this is different.

Would one of you more clever fellows kindly help us know how to install and load this from the 9780-6.0.0.650.exe installation file? I for one would be grateful!

well i managed to load 6.0.0.650 finally, install the .650 files on the folder on the same folder where it contains the .600 files as i was using multilingual package of .600 OS and the default loads a new folder named all language folder there you have to show the path to original file. then it will show.

install base .600 in pc, then install .650 in pc and the java files in the correct folder( same folder where the .600 files have been stored) . do not use net , then delete vendor.xml ( 2 files) one in the program files /common files/ RIM/apploader and another in user/app data/roaming/RIM/blackberry/loader there, search for more if you wish and delete all vendor.xml files. then run apploader it must find the new OS. hope this works!

LOL - if the fault is with the sensing then I guess your BlackBerry must be running on pixie dust!
