Default Install a leaked OS for 9780 using Desktop Manager 6 ?

I'm having problems installing an os leak for 9780.

Is it still possible to install a leaked OS for 9780 using the newly Desktop Manager 6 or did RIM block it ? because on my desktop manager it say modues are missing.

Anyone ?

No you can still download leaks with DM. There may be a problem with the OS that you're wanting to install. Make sure you delete any other OS versions from the computer. Additionally, if it's a leak, or official but not official for your carrier, make sure you delete the vendor.xml file before installing. Also, try the install using the AppLoader rather than DM. And of course, back up your data and applications first.

Thanks for the info.
Q1. Where do I find manually the OS file on the computer to make sure I have the file there ?
Q2. I tried deleting applications data and all applications in AppLoader and they still don't remove. any idea for that ?

First look in the "Control Panel" then "Add/Remove Programs" on your computer. Near the BB Desktop software, you should see something like "BlackBerry Device Software v6 for the BlackBerry Smart Phone 9780" If you have more than one, delete the software you will not be installing. If unsure delete both and download again and let the drivers install.

Now if you go to My Computer>C Drive>Program Files>Common Files>Research In Motion>AppLoader you will see the actual file Loader.exe and possibly the vendor.xml file.

I would suggest deleating any OS software and doing a clean install. Then navigate the prompts I outlined above, locate and delete the vendor.xml file to the recycle bin. Connect your 9780, now double click or right click and select run on the Loader.exe file. this will load the new OS to the device.

Thanks.
I see you have 6.0.0.480 installed on your 9780.
According to you, which of the "9780 6.0.0.480" is a good version on crackberry.com ? where should I download it from ?

There is only one version of .480 available. You can download it from here. Basically the only difference between a leak and an officail OS is that a carrier/service provider "certifies" it. Essentally, any bugs in a leak will still be present in the official version of the same OS.

6.0.0.480, is a very stable OS, good battery life, no major bugs to note. Let me know if you have other questions.

No you will not notice any changes on the BB desktop, and no apps will be removed. Happy installing.

Like DawgMan said, you won't see a change. Your carrier's apps are pushed through via the service books. You're still registered to Bell's network, so you'll retain them, or at least get them back afterwards.

And your device will still have the Bell splashscreen when you turn it on / reboot. That screen is flashed into the hardware and remains the same regardless of your OS.

It's natural to be apprehensive when you're still a rookie to all this OS upgrading. I know I was nervous the first few times I did this a couple years ago.
Just remember: all OS's are made by RIM.
