Post How do I downgrade from a leaked OS to an official OS?

I have a Curve 9360 which I bought two days ago, and I am currently using the 7.1.0.190 leak, and no offence - but it is horrible. Poor battery life, phone heated up to 42 degrees (42!) when I woke up this morning with the charger plugged in.

I'd like to downgrade to the latest official OS (after shrinking it, of course), 7.0.0.594. How do I do this?

Do I just uninstall the 7.1 leak from the Control Panel on my PC, then install the official 7.0 exe, shrink, remove vendor.xml and open loader.exe? Would loader.exe allow me to install a less recent OS?

Thank you!

The process should work just like you suggest. If not then wipe the phone with BBSAK or some similar program before installing the lower OS. Did that for my 9810 recently and all went just fine.

Don't forget to do a backup first...
I usually do this with protect, DM and BBSAK.

If you are loading the official OS from the same carrier you got the phone from, there's no need to delete the vendor file. All that file does is match the carrier provided OS to the same carrier's phone. If they already match, there's no problem leaving the file in place. But it won't matter if you delete it too. Your choice.

been running my curve 9360 on .190 leak and want to try out the latest office.
i even tried wiping phone with bboss and it says the process failed or something like that!

missvickies, open BBSAK, then press Ctrl+Alt+Del, go to the Processes tab and shut down the process named BBDevMgr (I think that's the name but it might be slightly different). Close that, then click on Connect in BBSAK. It should now work.
