Exisiting Blackberry software has been detected...

I am trying to attempt to update my software and I am getting the following dialogue box:

Existing Blackberry software has been detected on your computer and must be closed before proceeding.
Disconnect your device and click OK to close these applications.
Otherwise click Cancel to stop installation.

So, I googled it and tried various suggestions found on this site as well as others to no avail. I checked my computer to make sure that there were no other software items present, which there weren't. I uninstalled desktop manager and restarted my computer, then reinstalled it still yielding the same dialogue box. At this point, I can't seem to figure out what's going on. Any suggestions to rectifying this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Did you uninstall the handheld software and remove the loader files?
