You can be angry to me because I decide not to leak any OS for what reason I show (which I really dont wanna show any reason to you or anyone, I can simple stop leaking OS and let ppl wait me to leak some OSs) you have to show respect. Think about your hybrids... If I didnt leak damn OSs you probably coulndt have any hybrids for anyone...
I also bet you usin' the .205 leaked OS on your device... Just be a "real man" and stof talkin' like this to me... | I'd like to apologize for anyone who may not appreciate what you've been doing for us. The fact of it all is that we are not the "normal" blackberry user, and carriers releasing OTA updates when they see fit works just fine for 99% of folks. It sucks for us because we follow RIM news, know what's coming, and are horribly impatient. I'm disgusted by the sense of entailment here. No one NEEDS a leaked OS or NEEDS to leak an OS for us. I, and I'm sure the vast majority of crackberry members, am extremely grateful for the excellent leaks you've provided in the past. While I am a bit bummed to hear that such a great source will no longer be there for us, it's really not a big deal... maybe my phone will actually settle for once! Furthermore, it really sucks that fileserve deleted your account (hopefully you didn't lose any important personal data), but that's what happens when you distribute non-licensed software. PROVIDING LEAKED SOFTWARE IS ILLEGAL, people need to realize that and not act so, again, entitled! Thankfully RIM seems to side with us and takes a much lighter approach to these matters than entertainment companies (having files pulled rather than suing the crap out of people).
I'm tired and because of that the intended audience of my post has drifted back and forth, and I'm far too lazy to proof read it (please don't personally attack me for such an offense). Bottom line is, thank you rroyy.

The OS 7 devices will need updates- whether from you or somebody else. I appreciated your leaks. Thank you. If you decide to let the faucet drip with OS leaks, again, cool. If not, no problem. But, if I spend my money, it will be because I want to and not just to receive the latest OS if that's what you decide to do in the future. |

| | the end of the leaks?
I too am feeling "bummed" about the situation. This thread was intended to address the taking down of sharing sites and the links posted on them. I didn't mean to center out roy, he just happens to be the guy we all know has always came through with the vast majority of the leaks on this site (among others). I feel I may have mistakenly given the impression the thread was directed at him when I posted the screenshot of my twitter feed. I am truly grateful for his work and realize it isn't something he's obligated to do nor has he been obligated to in the past. Without these leaks I know I probably wouldn't have frequented the site as much as I have in the past year and a half or so that I've been a member. There has always been an excitement for me when I get to install a new OS. I hope that can continue on Crackberry.com and I look forward to good things to come from RIM and hope for a smooth transition as they take on new roles and attempt to push past the competition.

Don't worry, its not the end. The leaks were there before Roy started and the leaks will undoubtedly continue (they've been going on for as long as I've been a BlackBerry user and before then). Roy is not the only person who receives OSes from contacts at the various carriers and he's not the only one that leaks them. I'm not going to say anything negative about Roy as I don't care to turn this into anything more than it is, just remember that he is not the only source and he will continue to not be the only source.

I don't know rroyy. I appreciate how he has contributed to the community. What turns my nosy up at him is what he says - here and on other forums. Don't belittle people because you have a resource and you want to wave it in front of the folks that depend on you. I could never discredit anything he's done. It's just when what you do doesn't line up with what you say...I'm letting him know that he's not fooling me. I don't speak for anyone else here or else where.

Keep it cool please. It is understandable that some may want to go low profile after the Mega takedown - just give them credit for what they have done in the past, and avoid personal attacks and insulting posts.

I don't use donations or FileServe payments for rroyy.com anymore I just use them for nothing. So that's not "site costs" thing anymore. I'll do what I do best and keep continue for providing OTAs for apps, especially for BlackBerry Bridge for AT&T users.
Yeap thats still "love to help ppl thing" but I've to care how much they deserve my effort and taking my time... So I decide to be silent for OS leaks for now. There are some other sources and they will keep posting leaked OSs (they should)
Thats all. Like or hate. I've nothing to do for now... | Many thanks for all you have done for us over the years, there are many more of us who are very grateful to you than you will ever know.
I for one sincerely hope that you have a change of heart.

Mecca, personally I agree with you and I think a lot of other people who put a lot of effort into posted leaked OS files and a lot of other things have not been given enough credit. Some people have been very good at looking for credit (no names, but I'm sure you know who I mean). Personally, I would like to see those others who do it with a lot less thanks get the same level of appreciaton.
For example, I know of people who have spent a lot of time developing useful tools for BB users and have taken considerable expense to post things on their own personal sites in the past. They never used Fileshare or MegaUpload before... That is a new thing and I'm personally happy that we may go back to the old way of things.

For example, I know of people who have spent a lot of time developing useful tools for BB users and have taken considerable expense to post things on their own personal sites in the past. | I'd like to see ALL those who have spent time and energy into developing, sharing, brainstorming, leaking, helping folks to install and troubleshoot, etc. get LIKE due.
Whether the thanks is solicited or not is completely beside the point, IMO.
You folks have done a fabulous job, whatever your input is, however behind the scenes it may have been.
For those of us who frequent these forums (and not OSBB, or other dev forums), we may not actually know who to thank. I don't think it's a matter of not being as appreciative to joe blow over captian hook. We can only "see" the folks on here who reply/post to issues, so quite naturally, they get the most notice/appreciation.
So, a big shout out to ALL those involved, big and small, visible or not, no matter what your contribution is/was. ALL YOUR EFFORTS ARE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.
And please, keep up the good work and I'll be happy to wear out my "thanks" button.
