the end of the leaks?

Just wondering what everyones thoughts are on Megaupload going down and now Fileserve and others deleting files from their servers. Could this be the beginning of the end for OS leaks?

It's been like that forever... RIM issue warnings, and files get deleted.

There will always be leaks though, and people will always find a way to share them.

Well, there have been no new OS 6 leaks in months (the last few recent versions were official releases), so we can't blame that on the shutdown of one file sharing site.

We (@ least me) still have access to OS files (sometimes) but yesterday (or day before not sure) my 40gigs of Leaked OS upload deleted by fileserve and my account banned as well. And now there's no affiliate program (which makes you get money for uploads) given by any upload providers. Since uploading OS files are not easy here in Turkey (1mbit upload speed) I decide to close leaked OS section of Your BlackBerry Home Page (http://rroyy.com/leakedos and decide not to leak any new OS (there will (should) be OS leaks but @ least I wont be the one uploading them) Uploads takin so much time of mine and I dont wanna do that for nothing.

(till upload providers find way to keep their a.ses safe and start their affiliate programs)

Besides it being a bit harder to host leaked OS files in the future "leaked" software won't be as frequent with the new BB10 OS coming. OS updates will be getting pushed to your device just like for the PlayBook right now. Unless carriers stick their noses into it lol

Megaupload site has been taken down - they are apparently being charged with conspiracy to commit racketeering, conspiracy to commit copyright infringement, conspiracy to commit money laundering, and criminal copyright infringement.

I am guessing this has to do with WAY MORE stuff than posting leaked RIM OSs . . .

7.1.0.205 still seems to be available on FileServe and Multiupload -so if you want .205 (or any other previous leaks), suggest you get it NOW!!

Wait a minute...maybe I'm not understanding. You're not providing OS leaks because you're not getting paid for it? Or are you saying that the cost of maintaining your site costs too much? If it's the former, I lost all respect for you, because I was under the impression that you had a reliable contact at RIM and you were showing your fellow BB users love. I spend HOURS compiling one hybrid to get better performance from my device, and then its uploaded on OSBB and linked here because I want to show love to my fellow users.

Many of us depend on your resources, NOT on you. You just made it obvious where your alliances are.

Do me a favor, because I'm not speaking for anyone else - whether this is liked or not - but whatever horse you rode in on, ride that sh*t up outta here. I have no love for a selfish piece of sh*t.

Thanks for providing your thoughts but till I find another way to do uploads thats what I decide to do. If you follow me over twitter u probably know that I really dont need any amount of money but! as everyone followin' me over twitter knows I have a busy life (w/ having fun only) and since no one cares where, how these leaks coming; looking for a payment for my works w/ this level of life is what I deserve... I don't use donations or FileServe payments for rroyy.com anymore I just use them for nothing. So that's not "site costs" thing anymore. I'll do what I do best and keep continue for providing OTAs for apps, especially for BlackBerry Bridge for AT&T users.

Yeap thats still "love to help ppl thing" but I've to care how much they deserve my effort and taking my time... So I decide to be silent for OS leaks for now. There are some other sources and they will keep posting leaked OSs (they should)

Thats all. Like or hate. I've nothing to do for now...
