Carrier Logo and Backgrounds not Wiped?

Hello everyone...

Sorry to ask a basic thing (i've checked the forum...but couldn't find a real answer)...

Having issues with my BB i wiped it clean with BBSAK...and installed a leaked firmware.

I was surprised to still see the "Sprint" logo and applications on the BB....

is that normal?

I've made sure to delete vendor.xml and even used another PC ...but Sprint customizations are still there...

did I get it wrong?
are those saved somewhere where a clean wipe cannot erase them?

Carrier startup screens are hard-coded in firmware and cannot be removed unless you pay to have the device "de-branded". This is different from "unlocking".

thanks for the clarification! I was unsure if the process was completed succesfully...

the think came up because with my carrier (Orange Switzerland) they cannot figure out what is wrong... everything work...but no data service.

I even called Sprint in USA to double check the status of this phone...they said everything looks normal... I wonder if there are some settings somewhere that locks the data connection...
