Default Can't upgrade to 7.1 for some reason

So I am not really new to leaked OS installs and have done several in the past...but for some odd reason no matter how I try I can't get the apploader to load the new 7.1 OS I want. I delete vendorxml (looked for a 2nd to delete but none found), have only the one OS installed on my pc, and everytime the apploader just shows me my installed apps on my phone and then tells me all is complete after I hit next to start the OS install. I have never had this happen before with any installs in the past. I can't use desktop manager as it doesn't see the update there either even when I dissconnect from the internet. No nada everytime. Me thinks something funny is going on here. I'm on 64 bit Windows 7. I have searched the forums religiously and read a Bible of info and nothing is working. If anyone knows a secret that is needed to make this particular leak get installed on my phone, I would love to hear any tips or tricks you used to do it! Thanks for any help friends!

You still have a hidden vendor.xml file somewhere on your PC.

Find it and delete it.

Thought I had done so but sure as pie you are right. I ran a full search on my system and found the extra one under: C:\Users\Me\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML\Vendor.xml

Sneaky sneaky. Will try to load the OS later tonight when I get back from work and hope that did the trick!

Well my problem is fixed, my OS loaded in perfect after I found that second vendor file I didn't know about. Gonna load it onto my wife's phone later if all goes smooth with it on mine today.

I wish I had more ideas for you doeltala.

still no luck, i removed both vendor.xml files. i checked the regedit path, i removed everything from RIM and reinstalled again. but STILL NO LUCK... i dont get it.. i even tried it on another computer but still i get Application stuff like Wirless Music but no OS update..... :'(

the strange thing is when i try stuff like the .540 and .590 OS they both work.. but when i remove those 2 and install 7.1 i dont manage it to get it up and running on loader.exe

Lame! Maybe try a full search on your pc for vendor files using the system search function. That's how I cleared mine out.

Not sure if this helps but do you have DATA access on your BB?
