You can also use a tool like BBH Tool (or BlackBerry Master Control Program or BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife) and delete all the files named 'cequint'. There are five of them:

BBCequintTMOBod9900.cod
cequint_tmo_bold9900_CequintAPI.cod
cequint_tmo_bold9900_ECIDCore.cod
cequint_tmo_bold9900_ECIDUI.cod
net_rim_bb_phone_cequint_proxy_tmo_bold9900.cod

You could also hide the icon from your homescreen. The service stops running after you opt out.

If BBSAK or the other programs don't do the trick, you can always manually remove it from the OS you are going to install.

In my case I found the files

(BBCequintTMOBod9900.cod, cequint_tmo_bold9900_CequintAPI.cod, cequint_tmo_bold9900_ECIDCore.cod, cequint_tmo_bold9900_ECIDUI.cod, net_rim_bb_phone_cequint_proxy_tmo_bold9900.cod)

here: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9900AllLang_v7.1.0.205_P5.1.0.181\Java

Once I deleted the files and re-installed the OS, it was nowhere to be found.
