Unhappy Can't access 3rd party apps after 4.5 upgrade

Since I upgraded to 4.5, I have not been able to access several of my news applications (abcnews, cnn, newsweek, time, wsj, nytimes, etc). when I try to launch them, my USCC splash screen comes up and it says requesting, waiting and it just hangs there. For all of the applications that do work, the blackberry splash screen comes up and says requesting, loading and the news site comes up.

I have tried changing my browser options, but that doesn't work, I never had a problem when I was on 4.3. Every news icon worked just fine.

Any thoughts? I have done the upgrade twice, deleted the browser and resent service books.

Device: Pearl 8130
OS: 4.5
Carrier: USCellular (CDMA)

Unfortunately, I have had this problem for over 2 months so I know that won't help.

Plug into device manager and reload the programs that were backed up during install of 4.5. That has worked for me in the past.

Why don't you just try to go to those sites instead of using shortcut icons to get to them. Open up the browser and go there.

That defeats the purpose of having the shortcuts. If they are available as a shortcut, I believe they should work when I access them.

It's possible the shortcuts aren't going to work under 4.5. Do what I told you and see if it works. If it does, then you know where your problem is.

I already know that it works but that is not my question so it does not solve my problem. I'm sorry. I'm looking for a solution not a work around. So at this point I'm still trying to troubleshoot the problem. Thanks.

I had the same problem. Went to applications and deleted the programs then went to the news sites a reinstalled the icon. It worked on all but, abcnews.com they have a newer version, 1.1. Doesn't work on my Curve'
