Is this thread for the Bold or 8900? I'll guess Bold since that is what you use.

Yes, but shouldn't there be separate threads for each device?

Edit: You may see issues on the Bold that are not present on the 8900 or vice versa.

Downloaded, edited with Blackberry Master Control Panel (removed VVM, preloaded stuff, themes, etc.) and loading to device now...

I know Gmaps worked fine with the previous one. I had it on there with no problems

I'm hoping for Pandora functionality! And hoping the fat font on random emails issue is fixed. And that they didn't touch the improved camera taking ability - was amazingly better than any of the previous OS' in my opinion.

Installing now.... will report back.

Back it up and you have no worries. You can always recover with an OS, you just can't recover a backup you didn't make!

Tried it on mine and goofed it up. Got stuck with the new BlackBerry startup screen and then an old style icon that said "Reload OS" error.

Oh well...trying to update it again.

I agree with that. it's good to get an idea by reading thru the thread, but you won't know until you intalle it and try it to see if you really like it

I always wait a couple days anyhow before I install it to see what the others have found. Then I flip and coin and decide if I'm going to risk it or not.

5.0.0.90 was not a bad initial release outside of the occasional app incompatibility (which there weren't that many to be honest). It had some nice additions. So I'm confident in trying 5.0.0.93, not to mention some of the RIM folks were running it on their devices at WES...
