This is a great tool. I've tried them all and I keep coming back to the BBH Tool. I have been using it since it was "just" Shrink-A-OS and now I find myself using it to create JAD's and the works! Simple, efficient, and made by the best.
Thanks Lyr for the work you put in behind this. There's a reason that the BBH Tool comes packaged with every single hybrid that I release and not any other shrinking tool. - 01-27-2011, 07:21 PM

I too am interested in what has been reported by other users as an issue?
This is a great tool that I used for the 9700 but thought that something was not quite right with it on the 9800. Not being a techie all I've noticed is that the device seemed to have more lag (the clock) after using Shrink versus the stock OS. I maybe wrong and I'm going to give 2.3 a try tomorrow after work since I had used an earlier version on the 9800 some months back.
In any case thank you for working on this fine product. I really appreciate the time saving and ease of use for someone as tech challenged as myself. - 02-07-2011, 12:56 AM

Issues posted to me were:
In rare cases, shrinking of certain items caused users to somehow lose Podcasts/Social Feeds (even when they were unchecked) - the solution is a simple reinstall of just the apps, but I would like to try to get to the bottom of this
Also, a user reported a shrink which caused them to boot up with errors, which I am further investigating - not sure if it was the hybrid or the shrink causing them the issue
appreciate all your inputBBHTool Creator/Developer

I'm assuming, but it isn't mentioned specifically, this ver is optimized for OS 6?

1. I can't shrink out the background pictures even though it is chosen in the UI. Oddly enough even though I remove them manually somehow they magically appear after boot up. I wonder if these are stored in the device memory from an earlier install. I always wipe the device to a 507 error before a new install so I would have thought these backgrounds wouldn't remain in the device memory.
2. I've had intermittent issues with the system not recognizing the insertion of headphones into the jack after shrinking. This may be a coincidence but I was wondering if this has been experienced before. - 02-11-2011, 06:42 PM

will look into #1
as for #2 - never heard of that issue in relation to shrinking, just a BB issue in general, but will let others chime in

It looks like the jack was just the headphones so the only thing that doesn't seem to work is the shrinking of the backgrounds. Thx again for a great tool.

Only issue I've found is that "put it back" hangs up. I get an error that BBHT can't access the folder because it's in use by another application.
Vista 64 SP2. OS 6.0.0.461

with v 2.4 it shrinks out my wallpapers fine.
the startup video is still there as well as the setup wizard after load-
v2.0 changelog says:
Added Shrink for Backgrounds[OS6], Backup Assisstant[OS6], Music[OS6], Startup Videos[OS6], Fonts[OS6], Feeds[OS6], Podcasts[OS6[, Movitalk[OS6], YouTube[OS6], and MySpace
I don't see option to shrink startup video, but I did shrink setup wizard and it's still there when I load.....are these things required for OS 6? I am using a 9650

The app will be renamed to BBH Tool to reflect our change of name. With any luck I'm hoping mid-week for a finished release - will need beta testers for the Install-A-Hybrid bit - mail bbhtool@bbh-plus.net to be apart of that (your email will be used solely for BBH Tool updates!)

Hey Ly, this is the best damn tool. Also why is there two threads lol. NVM, mods should really merge the threads.

I tried this a couple times on my JSL 9000 v4.5 OS and it doesn't shrink out all the fonts. Also my BBM icon disappears and PingChat won't open. Using BB Boss doesn't cause the issue but then Boss doesn't shrink out the ringtones! I use both now. LOL!

I can add this for sure - main reason this wasn't in here before was because it used to cause issues with the OS5 browser when it was shrunk, but I can modify it so that it won't remove it for OS5 and only in OS6 shrinks

Thank you very much and I believe they are working on it - mainly my fault for posting in different spots, apologies to all for the confusion/inconvenience of that
From the looks of the things, the podcast files are all removed and so it seems like it may be something it is either a) pushed to the device or b) can't be removed regardless of it not being selected for install
which fonts didnt it shrink on os5? also which os was it? haven't really kept up to date with the older OS's but I can definitely investigate if you let me knowLast edited by lyricidal; 04-17-2011 at 07:27 PM.
