I had read the threads and it sounded like a glitchy mess the way they described it, but I loaded it just for giggles to see what the new features were like all the while thinking I would wipe it and reload something else. But instead, it runs stable enough for me, so I left it. I have had it loaded for 24 hours now, and I haven't had too many problems at all. I'll detail them below, but my real point is ... if you're already used to wiping your phone, whats the harm? IT MIGHT work out for you like it did for me.

    In the past 24 hours with 5.0.0.140 loaded:
    -It froze on initial boot up, so I had to pull the battery to get it to boot for the first time.
    -That first boot takes forever.
    -It took about 3 or 4 batt pulls for it to settle in and work smooth.
    -If you are typing while you receive a text or other alert, the sound will be something other than what you selected. Otherwise, alerts work fine for me.
    -Once, while scrolling through a list of suggestions for a misspelled word in a bbm convo, while I received an SMS simultaneously ... it gave the white screen with an error and rebooted.
    -I went to the Mobile Network/Options/Diagnostic Test screen, and it got frozen and I had to pull the battery.

    Thats really not that bad. It's been a perfectly usable phone for me, and since my phone reacts HORRIBLY to the 151 radio, I am sticking with 5.0 for now since all the hybrids out there run like crapola on my storm due to them being based off the 151 radio. So untill we get a 9530 .164 leak ... 5.0 it is for me.

    P.S.: It's fun to make the guys at the wireless kiosk near my work scratch their heads while they try to figure out how on earth I have this software. They just sit there opening folders and closing them like a child with a new toy watching the transitions. LOL
    I think because we have had 2 leaks at the same time, I am taking the standard 1 step up technique. You are right and i will try the 5.0, just for kicks before returning to the 164 or the 151/hybrid as i cant afford to live without Facebook, i have no other life.

    Wonder whether you all notice in the homescreen when you highlight an application by using a standard theme the blue glow will appear only if you touch the icon. In the previous version (e.g., 151), the blue glow would still appear even though you un-touch the icon, and only disappear if you touch another icon. Or, it just happens to me??

    Yes, happens the same to me. Has anyone noticed that the Browser is unable to play any stream of video or audio? I don't know if i'll keep this OS... i'll have it today an will see..

    Oops, excuseme... i can see youtube videos (through youtube mobile website, not the app). But right after wathcing the vid, the BIS connection falls and i can't get it back unless i turn off the radio and on again.
    This is the same I experienced with .151. I think i'll get the 5.0 and see...

    Does enyone have the same issue?

    + It will open Connection Manager if you click on the Signal Bar
    + It will open the Clock Setting if you click on the clock
    + New fade effect when you release the screen on a button

    - A little bit slower than 151

    Thanks for the confirmation Endrino. Do you also notice that the standard theme (Precision Zen) in this build also also has shortcuts which glow in blue when you touch it e.g., the signal meter is for Manage Connections and time/clock is a short cut for Clock.

    Well I actually had it already in my theme Blackberry Pro v3 RED_4. It seems the Zen designers have copied from it.

    • Transitions are more consistent;
    • Most themes somehow works now;
    • Connection issues resolved (bis/tcp/wap switch);
    • Memory upped by 4MB;

    • SMS alert doesn't work, some SMS's are not appearing in inbox, but show up and are accessible in Hidden Today theme issue;
    • MMS issue;
    • A little slower than .151.

    just updated mine, got an app.error on first boot. java nullpointer exeception on the second boot. checked the logs, all JNE's pointed to the ribbon files which are linked to the themes i think?

    changed back to default theme now... no more error.

    looks like my cool "default transparent" theme won't work anymore. gotta find a new one.

    I will download this when I get home from work today, then install it when I have a chance, not going to put a rush on it as does not seem too different to .151

    Thumbs up I am so ready for this to be good!

    Hopefully, this will be a nice step up from.151 eventually (give Lyricidal time), and better than the 5.0 version that seems to be very "glitchy". I am ready to get that radio problem fixed and be able to run Slacker and Pandora without having the "not enough memory" error show up!
